(See war- ranty information for instructions on returning product to Hoyt). These are typically not fractures or breaks in the carbon fibers them- selves and do not represent a structural failure.įor separations that are larger than 1/8 inch in length and/or wider than 1/32 inch wide, the bow should be returned to Hoyt for inspection and testing. These small separations are considered normal and non-structural provided that they are under 1/8 inch in length and less than 1/32 inch wide at its widest location. This is a typical composite condition which may become more visible as the bow is used over time. HOYT CARBON RISER SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS AND INFORMATION:ġ) Composite constructed components, such as Hoyt Carbon Risers, may show small surface separations in the paint and/or top surface layer of the construction. I wish Hoyt would make an aluminum version of the carbon risers though, they are just flat out cool looking. I just felt there was less to worry about with the aluminum riser. All the disclaimers and warnings damaged my calm about the carbon bows. At least part of the reason is this following section from the Hoyt owner's manual. I understand that Hoyt as a company must work diligently to outshine the competition and in my opinion they do a very good job at it but, sometimes it is the smaller things that make a great company like listening to the needs and concerns one customer at a time.I went with the Spyder Turbo. Obviously, I am disappointed with Hoyt's decision and the reasoning behind it over the replacement of a simple piece of rubber. I have been in the automotive refinishing business for over 30 years and trust me when I say this I have a pretty good idea of what can be used to refinish this bow with and what type of adhesives to use on specific materials. All I want is the original equipment replacement part. I explained that I am not after the top secret product brand name of adhesive used or the highly classified attaching method. What? I am still trying to understand why this part is not serviceable. Recently I called Hoyt and spoke with a Hoyt customer service rep about the replacement of the arrow shelf rubber pad on my Element and was told this part could not be sold to me due to the type of adhesive that is used to adhere the piece to the bow. I understand this is purely cosmetic but at the same time I want my equipment to look and perform like the day it was manufactured. One of the Elements has been taken down for refinishing due to the extreme wear to the finish which comes off with the touch of a fingernail. Hello! I currently own (3) Hoyt bows, (2) of them being 2011 Carbon Elements. I'm sure they will have some sort of professional reasoning and explanation for me. I will follow up with their reply if I receive one as requested. I have posted the actual email sent which may sound like I am overreacting to some but when you invest gobs of money in their overpriced products I feel they should offer better service for their customers and you should be able to replace EVERY part on their bows. Anyway, I emailed them to express my concern without trying to sound like I was whining but rather disappointed and confused as to why this piece is not serviceable:angry. I got to admit whatever Hoyt uses for adhesive sure works cause I could not get the rubber off in one piece even after heating and carefully attempting to trim the underside, so it came off alright but in numerous pieces. The only reason I am replacing the pad in the first place is because I stripped the bow down to have it duracoated due to the finish being severely worn prior to me purchasing the bow on a popular auction web site. What? Really? How stupid is that! Has anyone else ran into this issue with their Carbon Element or am I being penalized for tampering with their precious equipment? I would really like a remedy (other than switching bow manufacturers) or suggestions from someone who has ran into this. I called Hoyt and spoke with a customer service rep and was given a bogus explanation as to why a simple piece of rubber could not be sold to the public. Disappointed with Hoyt over the replacement of a rubber pad on the 2011 Carbon Element arrow shelf.
